You journal honestly into this app — sin, marriage, money, doubt. You deserve to know exactly who can see it, how long it lives, and what happens when you leave.
Who can see my journal entries?
Only you. Not your mentor. Not your triad. Not James. Not other members. The database enforces this with row-level security — your entries are scoped to your user ID and the server will refuse to return them to anyone else, including us.
What about the study companion (Ask Anvil)?
The AI model sees the lesson context and the question you type. It does not get a copy of your private journal. The provider (the LLM gateway we use) processes the request to generate a reply and is contractually prohibited from training on it.
Who can see my cohort posts?
The other members of your cohort and the admin (for moderation). Posts inside a cohort thread are visible to that cohort only — not to the wider membership.
What about my Compass results?
Visible to you and your mentor, so the monthly 1:1 isn't starting from zero. Not visible to other members.
Will you ever sell or share my data?
No. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers, brokers, or third-party marketers. Ever.
What happens to my data if I cancel?

hello@anvilcross.com and we will permanently delete your journal entries, Compass results, messages, and account within 30 days. Cohort posts you authored are anonymised (your name removed) so the thread history remains intact for the other members — or fully deleted on request.
What about the legal floor — abuse, harm, court orders?
We are not licensed counsellors. If you disclose imminent harm to yourself or others, or abuse of a child, James will not stay silent — he will point you to the right help and, where the law requires it, report. A valid court order can compel disclosure; this is true of any business. Outside those narrow cases, what you write stays between you and God.
The Covenant says 'sacred confidentiality' for the room. What does that mean for members?
What is shared in your triad, cohort, or mentor 1:1 stays there. Members sign the Covenant on day one. Breach of confidentiality is grounds for removal — not a warning, not a slap on the wrist.
